What is the difference between Xray and ReconX Search?
ReconX Search is a general-purpose security file search engine with a document viewer and keyword alerts. Xray is a specialized deep search portal with four dedicated modules: Data Search, Exposure Search, Credentials Search, and Subdomain Discovery — each with built-in visualizations and CSV export.
What can I search with Data Search?
Data Search lets you query exposure records by email, domain, IP address, or SSN. It auto-detects the query type and returns results with country heatmap and timeline visualizations showing geographic and temporal distribution of the data.
What are credential records in Credentials Search?
Credential records are login credentials found in exposed datasets from various sources. Credentials Search lets you query these databases by domain or URL to find compromised accounts, showing the URL, username, password, password type, source, and date.
How does Subdomain Discovery work?
Enter a root domain and Xray enumerates all subdomains found in exposure and credential data. Results stream in real-time via SSE with pause/continue controls. You get three visualization tabs: an interactive subdomain graph, country heatmap, and discovery timeline.
Can I export the results?
Yes, all search modules support CSV export. You can export results per page or in bulk. Download links include automatic expiration for security. Export operations consume credits from your subscription quota.
Do I need a separate account for Xray?
No. Xray uses your existing ReconX account through delegated authentication. Click "Login with ReconX" on Xray and you will be authenticated using your main account. Your subscription plan and credits are shared across both platforms.
