Account Settings Guide

Manage your profile, change password, update email, and configure notification preferences.

Accessing Account Settings

Click on your profile icon in the top right corner and select "Settings" to access your account configuration. The settings page is divided into several sections.

Profile Information

Update your basic account details:

  • Display name - How your name appears in the interface
  • Profile photo - Upload an avatar image
  • Organization - Your company or team name
  • Timezone - Used for displaying dates and scheduling

Email Settings

Manage your email address:

  • Primary email - Used for login and notifications
  • Change email - Update your email (requires verification)
  • Email verification - Resend verification if needed

Changing your email requires confirming the new address before it becomes active.

Password Management

Keep your account secure by maintaining a strong password:

  1. Enter your current password
  2. Choose a new password (minimum 12 characters recommended)
  3. Confirm the new password
  4. Click "Update Password"

Tips for strong passwords:

  • Use a password manager to generate and store complex passwords
  • Avoid using passwords that appear in breach databases (use ReconX to check!)
  • Never reuse passwords across services

Notification Preferences

Control what emails you receive from ReconX:

  • Security alerts - Login attempts, password changes (always on)
  • Usage warnings - Notifications when approaching quota limits
  • Product updates - New features and platform changes
  • Marketing - Promotional offers and newsletters

Session Management

View and control your active sessions:

  • See all devices where you're logged in
  • View last activity time and location
  • Revoke sessions you don't recognize
  • Log out of all devices at once

Regularly review your sessions and revoke any that look suspicious.

API Keys

If your plan includes API access, manage your keys here:

  • Generate new API keys
  • View existing keys (partial display)
  • Revoke compromised or unused keys
  • Set key expiration dates

Data & Privacy

Control your data:

  • Export data - Download your account data and search history
  • Delete search history - Remove your saved search records
  • Account deletion - Permanently delete your account and all data

Delete Account

If you need to delete your account:

  1. Cancel any active subscription first
  2. Download any data you want to keep
  3. Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete Account
  4. Confirm the deletion

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your data will be removed within 30 days.
